Are you looking to step up or step over to the role of Line Producer in High-End Television? ScreenSkills’HETV Step Up/Step Over To Line Producing Programme 2023 is a free intensive training scheme to help you on your way.

The in-depth course, led by Avenue 5 producer Steve Clark-Hall, is aimed at Production Managers, Location Managers and First ADs looking for the next move in HETV.

The programme is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions

The course is delivered fully online and is designed to fit in with busy working schedules.

 

What does the training offer?

  1. Intensive Zoom-based training from course leader Steve Clark-Hall (Avenue 5) and a range of guest speakers including Roopesh Parekh (Executive Producer – Willow (Disney+), Simon Maloney (Producer, Peaky Blinders) and many more TBC. Areas covered include leadership, taking control, managing budgets, recruiting, scheduling, working internationally and dealing with co-productions.
  2. Placements for 10 of the participants with HETV productions.

Step Up/Step Over To Line Producing 2023 has 15 spaces, and successful applicants will be drawn from:

  • Productions Managers
  • Location Managers
  • 1st ADs
  • Other experienced crew ready to make the move.

To be considered for a place on the course you must be nominated by a Producer, Executive producer, MD of an HETV Company, Head of Production, Production Exec or a Line Producer working in the industry, who will also need to supply a reference.

 

What is covered in the sessions?

The training will cover all the responsibilities and will include:

•    Setting up a production

-      Recruiting fairly and effectively

-      Legal requirements

-      Necessary documentation

-      Scheduling

-      Budgeting

-      Working internationally

-      Dealing with co-productions

-      Training in Movie Magic

 

When will the training take place?

Training will start in March 2023 and run over seven weeks. There will be core sessions with Steve Clark Hall over five successive Saturdays (10am to 4pm) from the 18 March, and six hour-long midweek talks with guest speakers on weeknight evenings from 8pm, starting on Wednesday 8 March 2023 and ending in mid-April

The course runs in SPRING 2023 and there are 15 places. The deadline is Friday 17 February 2023

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by Friday 24 February with interviews taking place in the week of 27 February. Successful candidates will be informed by Friday 3 March.
